Zeev SuraskiZend Technologies
Zeev was a lead contributor to PHP starting in 1997, when he and Andi Gutmans developed the foundations for PHP 3. That new version was a turning point for the language, which today powers over 20 million websites including Facebook and Yahoo! and enjoys a following of over 5 million developers. Zeev spearheaded the PHP 4 project, the version that tipped PHP to become the most popular Web development platform in the world, and later contributed to the PHP 5 project. Zeev Suraski co-founded Zend Technologies in 1999 together with Andi Gutmans. He has led the company's research & development teams to create foundations for the company's current key technologies. In addition he serves as Zend's CTO and has helped forge Zend as one of the key Web solutions providers, secure four rounds of financing, and establish Zend's presence in the European market. Suraski serves on the board of Zend Technologies and is a member of the PHP Group and the Apache Software Foundation.
